With an emphasis on case studies, this bite-size event consistently provides members and their guests with a look at the latest and greatest that the industry has achieved. Networking and lunch will be followed by a brief introduction to ICoTA and a concise, topical technical presentation.
Join us for our Annual General Meeting & technical luncheon event on Tuesday, August 10th at the Norris Conference Center in Houston. Lunch will be served starting at 11:30. Chris Schneider, 2021-2022 Senior Chairman, will give a brief USA Chapter overview at noon followed by our guest speaker.
API Updates & Status: 16ST, 16B, 16SB & 16WL

Steve will provide an update and status of the API recommended practices and standards that pertain to the well intervention industry.
- 16ST - coiled tubing well control equipment systems.
- 16B - specifications on well control equipment for wireline, coiled tubing, and snubbing applications.
- 16SB - snubbing and HWO well control and equipment systems.
- 16WL - wireline wellhead pressure control equipment and systems.
More about our Speaker
Steve is a member of ASME, SPE, and ICoTA (where he served as Senior Chairman in 2016 and 2017). Steve has served on the API 16ST committee and is currently the Vice-chair of API Sub Committee 16 Task Group 5 (SC16/TG5) for documents API RP16ST and RP 16B. Steve also participates in API RP 16WL, API RP 16SB and API 17G. A graduate of the University of Louisiana Lafayette in 1989 with a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering, Steve earned professional engineer license in 1994 and is currently the Senior Operations Director for Texas Oil Tools.
Lunch will be served starting at 11:30 am followed by the presentation.

The Norris Conference Houston / CityCentre facility is located at the corner of intersection of IH-10 West and Beltway 8 (816 Town & Country Blvd). For your convenience, we encourage you to park in the garage that is attached to the Norris Centers location (paralleling Beltway 8). You will see signs with the Norris name and logo directing you to the correct floors to park.
